So last night was my GOING AWAY FUNDRAISER, it was such a blast. I was really blessed to get to see so many of my friends and family. All of my girlfriends showed up early to help set up and I am so thankful for them because I could have not done that with out them. thank you guys so much.
For most of you guys reading this you know that I was in need of more support for my mission trip in order to reach my 60% goal so that I would be able to even leave to GEORGIA, well GOD IS GOOD and has blessed me with just a little over 60%. Yesterday I raised a little over
$2000 at the party, plus a little bit from people at church. PRAISE GOD for his providing in my life. Where GOD guides he also provides, that saying has been an encouragement during the last week of praying and asking god for help.
I had a friend of mine JAMES FLOMO from Liberia share his testimony with my friends and family. I knew that his life story would touch the people there last night I just didnt know in what way I just knew that it would. So while I sat in the back listening to his story of how he grew up with his family and then having it taken away from him by the rebels and faced with almost dying twice, I looked into my friends faces all over the room, and I saw something in them that was not usual, I believe it was reality hitting them in the face a little, because we live in the United States where we never have to worry about being in the same situation James was in from burying all of his family to living in the JUNGLE with other kids for 7 years where he had to find food and survive living off of the JUNGLE where there was no doctors, teachers, nothing except this higher power that he knew was out there.
James lived a hard life, nothing that could compare to most of ours at all and i speak for my friends because Im pretty sure none of them have ever had to go through the tribulations that he went through. Im thankful that he found GOD and he is the person he is today. I believe that LORD will use him to speak to others to encourage them. He mentioned Paul and how in the bible Paul talks about putting the past behind you and to look to the future. AMEN to that. We cant go backwards, but we can forgive and repent and move forward to be the people that GOD has called us to be. James thank you for sharing you story with my FAMILY it meant a lot to me to impart to them hope for others and that GOD can change you.
I was thinking of this verse while he was speaking.
2 Chronicles 7:14:

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and
pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear
from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
