OCTOBER NEWSLETTER
Beloved,
I have been in South Africa for about 2 months now and God has done some amazing things in just that time. I know that God has called me here for a specific reason for this season in my life. I am blessed beyond words to be here serving GOD and his people in Africa.
Recently I have been going to a place called ESKOM with about 4 others from the team. There we are blessed with the opportunity to do street ministry, which involves walking around, and talking to the people about Christ and loving on the children that live there.
Sometime last week when we were getting ready to leave this little boy named Ponto (far right) came running out of his yard and straight up to me. He was very quiet with tears in his eyes and he didn’t talk at all, since we were leaving, I wasn’t able to talk to him so I brought him back inside his home. The following day my friend Chelsea and I ran into him again while he was playing with Alan (far left). It was then when I knew I was going to be able to share Christ’s love with him even more than before. Everyday since meeting these children, they have walked hand and hand with us all around the neighborhood sharing Christ with those around us. Words are hard to explain the people in ESKOM, but the best I can think of would be THE HARVEST IS RIPE.
There is only so much time left till we can no longer go to ESKOM, and with visiting the people my heart cant stop thinking of what GOD is going to do here. It says in Matthew 9:37 ” the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the lord of the harvest therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” I know that everyday spent with the people in ESKOM and the children on the streets that the LORD will use my team in mighty ways whether we see the fruit or not, its all about being faithful to the LORD and doing what he has called his children to do. Mark 16:15 ” Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
So with all that in mind, I am loving it here and the Lord is really apparent in this place. I am looking forward to the rest of the 7 weeks I have, to do ministry in Africa until I leave for Christmas break. I still need to raise $3,500 dollars for the rest of my trip, also the cost for a roundtrip ticket from Johannesburg to Anchorage and back, for Christmas break, which comes out to be $2,500 dollars. The total being $6000 dollars altogether, the Lord is my provider and I am trusting in him in all ways so I am coming to the body of Christ with my needs and believing in him because where GOD guides he provides. Thank you all for your support and I am looking forward to coming home with the help of your donations.
