Hi to everyone out there!!

I am just updating you on this new place that God has brought me into and the continuing on of my desire to do missions out of the United States. As of today I am currently working a couple jobs and living at home to save money to pay off the remainder of my mission to Africa and to help pay for college.
I was accepted to Montreat College, in North Carolina where I will be attending in January as long as that door stays open for me. I believe that that is where God is calling me to go for the next season of my life and all I know is that I have to be obedient with the peace that I have in my heart. The school is a very small christian college in the black Mountains, which happens to be home town to Billy Graham. Most students that attend Montreat are missionary kids or have some mission background. I am very excited to see what the Lord has in store for me and to continue to make me into the person that He has made me.

well thats all for now folks. love aubs

my cell number is

907-242-9172

call me and lets get together.

I'm In Arizona with Brittney!!

Hey guys,

I arrived back in the states on May 16th, where I was picked up by my twin sister Brittney, my mom, my dad, and my 2 little sisters. That was a huge surprise to me since I thought Brittney was going to be the only one there, but with that all in mind we stayed in Las Vegas for the night and then off to California for the next nine days. We visited and stayed at a family friends house for 2 nights and left to continue our travels up towards Fresno where our family lives. On our way through we stopped at Six Flags for the day and then off the Visalia where my aunt Barbara lives. There I stayed for a week where I attended my cousins wedding. Then just a week ago Brittney and I took what is called the AMTRAK from Visalia to Bakersfield, where we got off onto a Bus which took us to Los Angeles and from there we got onto our last AMTRAK (a train) for the next 10 hours to Flagstaff, Arizona where I am currently living for the next 19 days. It has been quite the adventure the last couple weeks and I have enjoyed much of it, although it is a very different life back in the states, I enjoy the freedom, the people and the places I have traveled too. Now that I am back I have been seeking the LORD for the guidance to the next season of my life. I am looking at Christian colleges all over the united states and I have found quite a few that I really like. I have a peace about going to school and continuing my education so that I can also continue my life doing missions and supporting people on the mission field. Right now in my life I am just waiting on the Lord to bring me to a new place where I will start a new season of my life. I am very excited to see this all come to play and I will be returning to Alaska on June 21st ,a Saturday. I look forward to seeing those familiar faces and catching up on life itself. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone to make coffee dates or whatever you want to call them. That may sound weird but there are lots of people that may want to hear what I did and how it went and I would love to share with you in more than just 3 words that sound a lot like this " IT WAS GOOD"!!! that is not really the way I have in mind to answer your question about my trip to Africa so please do feel free to ask me to hang out and I will spill everything to you. Thank you guys. Love AUBS

My life Is A Mission Field!!!

Hey friends!!! I have missed you so much and my

time here in Swaziland has come to an end. We will

be leaving the country in 4 days and heading to South

Africa where we will be debriefing our trip at Kruger

National Park for 5 days. This last month of ministry

has flown by so fast, but in the time being God has

really spoke to me the most during this time.

I recently went to a youth camp for 4 days with

people I had only met once and youth that I have

never met before. It was there where the Lord spoke

to me about my calling to the nations. Everywhere I

go anything I do, I pray and I ask the Lord for his

guidance and divine favor in my life. Amen. I am

very thankful for you guys reading this and taking

the time to pray and support me while I have been

far away. This will be my last blog but I have saved

all the emails that receive this so that I can write you

all when I get home about the future plans that the

Lord has for me. I believe that my hearts desire are

HIS desires and so I have to follow them. My heart is
is telling me that I can never get comfortable for too

long because i have been called to the hard places

where life is never comfortable. I know I am young

but there is no need for me to wait till I am 50 to

go out of my comfort zone so I can try and reach a

certain people group when I could start living my

purpose the Lord has for me, to reach out to a young
generation of people to encourage and build up to

live godly lives. I will be home in about a month and

I am so stoked to get to share the stories and such

such with you all. I continue to pray for his guidance

as I move forward from this short term mission trip.

I see myself moving and living in a different place

very soon to continue with God's work and I ask for

your prayers and financial support in the future. The

reason I bring this up to you is because we are all

part of the body and we need to work together so

that we are moving in unity. Thank you for all the

blessings.

BECAUSE THEY HAVEN'T HEARD,
love aubs

Spring Cleaning!!!! Looking for something to DO!!!

As my semester is coming to an end we are beginning to clean up and say our goodbyes to the relationships that we have built while here. Spiritually, physically, and financially I need closure - Physically I am saying my goodbyes, Spiritually I am praying for Gods guidance and for discernment in this season of my life while I have been out on the mission field, Financially I reach out to my friends and family to help with the remaining balance of $3,137 dollars that is needed in my account with Adventures in Missions, the non-profit organization that I am here with. The money that I have raised has gone towards the food I eat everyday, my housing, transportation, and ministry supplies. I have been here without all the money because but I have to raise the rest so that the team account will not be in the negative with the money that was used during the time that I have been here in Africa. I thank you guys for supporting me, so that I can live over here and go out to the high schools and share with young swazis about God and so that i can go out and do ministry in the rural with the people far away with barely anything to their name. All the money that I raise goes towards everything that I do while I am here in Swaziland, Africa.
So many times people get so excited that you are going to a place where there are orphans and that you are doing such a good thing for the people over there. Thats true to some extent, But if you come over to a place that is the unfamiliar to you, you are in for something different than just the joy you have when you are holding a little child. I say this to you because when I first arrived here in Africa my mind-set was completely different from what it is now. I have experience the life here and seen so many things that i would have never known if I didn't say YES to GOD to Him calling me to the UNKNOWN. God has changed me into the person that He has called me to be and I am very thankful for this experience I have had here in Swaziland where God has used not just me but my team as well for the GLORY of HIS NAME. I appreciate you all who care and read my blogs and have continued to pray for me in good times and in bad. The last 2 weeks have been filled with just reading the word and soaking in God's presence . I believe in God for mighty things, signs, and wonders to happen all over the world.
I am coming home to the familiar and to people that I know but that do not know me like they did before I left, all because of great change that has happened since arriving here, I want to say the same for you too as well, I hope that God has rocked your world over there since I have been gone and I can't wait to hear stories and see the faces that I know. I no longer want to live for the world and the reason I say this to you all because I will need accountability and for the 200 or so people who receive my blogs that is a lot of people that can see for themselves that I am proclaiming it out in boldness.
Friends and family, I pray that He would speak to you all. We are the body of Christ with many different parts, some are the hands and others the feet. We need each member of the body to play their part in order to continue in Unity and to do the things God calls us to.
I love you all and will see you all very soon.

1 John 5:14-15:
14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that he hears us"whatever we ask"we know that we have what we asked of him.

Hangin with the Pratts!!

hey guys, Right now I am at the Pratts house in Mbabane, Swaziland, they are missionaries who were sent out from Abbott Loop Community Church. Which just so happens to be the same church that I attend while I am in the states. I have spent the last couple days with them at their place and its been great. Their family is wonderful and very FUNNY!!!! I have enjoyed so much just getting to know them a bit more and I encourage those that read this and would like to support missionaries out there in the world, that their organization is a awesome one to support. I have seen the Sandra lee Center, a home for orphans. they have more than 4 homes with Makes ( mothers) that live in the homes with children in each home ranging from all ages that stay there till they are maybe 18-20 depending on their situation but they grow up there until 18 or so.

So far life in Swazi has been very rewarding( blessings all around) !!!!!

I do have prayer needs !!!!!!

Treasure _ 19 years old she live with us in our team house and has been there since Feb. What an amazing help she has been too us because we fall short of the language considering it can be a barrier for us who no very little Siswati. Well she had her appendix taken out a week ago. It was an emergency!!! it was unknown and had to have it done immediately due to lack of knowledge that it was about to burst. although she was in a great amount of pain the doctors just gave her meds thinking it would take it away and it continued she finally went to get an ultrasound and was told go to the ER now!!! well I want to throw out an opportunity to HELP with the cost of the surgery which happens to be 1700 american dollars, we have lowered our budget for our food for some time so that we can help out from the team budget because its quite too much for her family to pay. If you would like to help you can contact my mother who will be more than willing to put the money in my bank account where I will take it out and give it to my leader Kate who will use it to re-imberse her account where she has so graciously taken out the money from her own savings to help pay for this surgery. Treasure is doing amazing in recovery and is thankful for all the help that she has been given. please continue to prayer for her and the teams that are here in Swaziland doing God's work. love always AUBS

also I injured both my knees a month ago and have been very discouraged due to having to lay low a little because it is worse than last semester but I am not going to go home early this semester, there is one month left here in Swaziland and I refuse to leave even though I have been limited to things that I can do but during this time GOD has been rocking my world and I am spending lots of time in the word and with Him...... I will write much more about this on my next blog, I just want people to pray for me, whether it be for healing, or just encouragement. whatever you would like.

thanks so much Nobuhle

One week ago we passed out the bibles to the students and it was very successful!!!!!!
The day looked a lot like this....... We arrived with the bibles and set up to hand them out to the students which was a little over 80 some students and over 10 adults that received the bibles.

they were very excited to get their very own bible... I am so sorry but I have to pay for the internet and I was not able to upload pictures in a timely matter because its very slow so when I get better internet I will post more about this. thanks love aubs also known as Nobuhle

hey guys so the bibles that I have asked for donations for were ordered last week and have arrived. katie and I are going to pick them up today from the store and in a week we will be distributing them to the students at ROADS PARK. I am very excited to play a part in giving someone the word to have for themselves, considering there are so many people here that do not own their very own bible.

Also an update on the strike that I last blogged about.... there was to be a resolution by this friday and if not other matters would take place and so we are taking pre-cautions for our safety this friday and jsut staying out of Manzini. So right now we do not know if they are going to resume into strike but we are praying so that we can continue our ministry here and I believe that things will work out. Just keep praying that soon a resolution will come about. otherwise we are safe and having been living normally as if nothing had happened. thanks love aubs

Although I was blessed with a donation for bibles we were still in need of more in order to get enough for all the students at the school so Katie who works with me has brought the offer up to her youth group that she was a leader at and they have decided to help raise funds for some of the bibles, on top of that her dad is going to donate funds for some of the bible. In all we will be getting enough money to buy the bibles and we will be distributing them sometime in the beginning of April.

So now every Wednesday during sports we will be doing a study on Paul's life, I look forward to what's to come with that and for the students to soon have their bibles when we do bible study. Please pray for the bible study and that the door stays open up until April 18th, which is when the semester breaks for them.

I just went over to the school ( last Thursday) and I came to find out that Career Guidance has been taken off of the time table so there is no longer a spot in the schedule for us to teach. I was shocked to hear the news because it just happened over night and it was unexpected. I am going to meet with the vice principal tomorrow and see if there is something we can work out, such as doing a bible study during lunch and getting confirmation on the bible study I mentioned that we do on Wednesday to see if we can still continue to do so.

So when I say that we have been hitting some rocky times in the high school ministry this semester, I really do mean some BIG rocks that seem to continuously being thrown in our way. Now I had a conversation with Katie when we found out that it was cancelled and she mentioned to me that all week every time Kristen and she would go to do ministry at other high schools while I stayed at Roads Park that something was cancelled. She's absolutely right every day something changes and so we are definitely seeking the Lord in this and asking him to give us wisdom and discernment in our choices, judgment and anything that we are coming across so that we know how to better prepare ourselves.

Sometimes when doors open and close and you think that it is the LORD and others think that it may be Satan. Is God closing the door at Roads Park? Because HE accomplished what HE has desired for them in that season. Or is it the ENEMY trying to keep us from bringing the word of the LORD to these amazing students? Well, there is my prayer request that you can lift up to the LORD for me!!!!!

A Place To Just Go And Die<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

It was 2 Fridays ago in the morning when I knew that I was not going to Roads Park that day. I just felt the LORD put on my heart to go to the hospital. Now I hadn't been to the Hospital since September and it was a eye opener, a shocker, and a lot more than I ever wished I would expect to come across. So for that to be the place that I was feeling the LORD bring me to that day, I was going through mixed emotions because I knew what I had seen the last time I paid a visit.

So I went that Friday to the hospital and I knew that I was going straight into the children's ward because I knew that is where GOD was calling me to go. Now guys picture a one -story building, with beds that you would use like when hurricane Katrina hit and people who lost their homes where sleeping on in the arenas. A little nicer than a cot but still an uncomfortable and crappy bed put into a room the size of a elementary cafeteria, well actually a bit smaller than that and everyone is about 5 feet apart lying in his/her bed with maybe a visitor. Its not like anything you can imagine but its close to what I described.

So that's part of the hospital. I walked around just praying and asking for the presence of the LORD to go with me in such a place and that there would be opportunity to just love on the mothers that die to themselves and stay there day and night with their babies and small children. I prayed over a few babies that I was led to and just talked to the mothers that could understand English and prayed with them as well. My heart hurt and I knew that the only thing I could do was so respect and comfort the women there. I cant heal GOD can, that's all that I was thinking while I was there. Finally a little bit before visiting hours would be over I walked into this room with 2 babies and a 12 year old girl. I knew that this girl was special and that my heart was to be with her and share with her who JESUS is.

I had no idea that she spoke English, because I asked to pray for her and she just nodded, so I finished the prayer, which by the way I totally believe the LORD is going to answer and GOD told me to ask her if she would like to read my bible and she said YES. I was stocked first off she understood me ( English) and she could read perfectly. I pulled my NKJV bible out that I carry with me and opened to Luke 4, I sat with Senanile and she read 2 chapters very slow but with a desire to continue even when she was losing her breath. God told me to give her my bible to keep so I blessed her with the word of the LORD and soon after that I had to depart from the place to die and on my way back to the house.

The next day the entire team was doing family ministry as usually and we all decided to go to the hospital. I got to visit most of the mothers that I had seen the day before, I wanted to go see this mother that I had talked to and got to know her a little more than the others and I realized that she was no longer there along with her precious baby. I went to ask the nurse where they were and she told me that the baby had died the night before, which wasn't much of a surprise to me because of the lack of care that they have from the staff which there is not much of. I went on with my day, talking and praying and kissing babies and visiting Senanile again.

A very awesome thing was when I walked in to see Senanile she was sitting in her bed with a cute little yellow dress on that she had wore the day before and was reading the book of Matthew chapter 7. It was such an encouragement to see someone so young that was in the hospital because she has TB and there is no one to visit her yet she still has strength, hope, and joy. I talked with her a little more and shared some of my heart with her up until it was time to leave.

My next hospital visit was 2 days later on a Monday, which happened to be my off day. My heart was so yearning for the people at the hospital and the desire to just be there and comfort them was leading me in the direction again for the 3rd time back to the children's ward. I was again so excited to get to see the babies that I had prayed for and the mothers that where there in the last days that I visited, plus precious Senanile that is always a joy to see her smile light up when she sees me come into her room. I first headed into the rooms with the babies all to come to find out that 2 more babies had died within a day that I didn't go to visit. There was this mother that I had met and I came to her to say Hi and notice that the one year old child was not doing good at all. He was lying in her arms with his head slanted and his eyes rolling up into his head off and on. At the sight of that I fell on my knees with such pain in my heart and cried out loud to the LORD, I prayed and prayed to GOD for him to do a MIRACLE because honestly that is what this child needed. Well really what can I do other than trust in the LORD and ask him to do the MIGHTY WORKS that HE knows HE can do? Its hard but at the same time GOD was speaking to me a lot during this time and showing me a lot of stuff that has helped me in my walk with him. Eventually I had to leave in order to get home on time before dark but that didn't stop me from feeling the pain or praying to the LORD for him.

It was one more visit on the next morning right before I was leaving for 5 days for a prayer retreat in Johannesburg that I got to see Senanile and found out that the baby that I was crying over had died. It hurts to see these children in so much pain just laying in beds to die in with no nurse, no actually medical attention other than a DRIP ( ivy bag) and there dedicated moms to stay there in the roach infested hospital. So in 5 days I have not seen but came to the conclusion that 5 babies had died within less than a week of going there. That's more than I have ever heard of back at home happening. Please pray for Swaziland and the people its because of bad choices that some of theses people are in this situation and the children are suffering because of it. There is some good news out of this though. We were heading to Johannesburg on Thursday and my last visit was on Tuesday and one of my leaders came up to me was telling me that she had met Senanile on Wednesday and when she walked into the room she was in sitting on the floor praying over a little baby boy that apparently has TB as well. It was such a blessing to get to hear that as well as getting to visit her again once I returned from a 5 day trip to find her out of her bed sitting with other patients and to see that baby boy looking incredible much better than the first time I met him. I was touched by what GOD can do when you just BELIEVEin him and the POWERthat is in PRAYER. please continue to prayer for Senanile and the little ones in Swaziland.

PRAY HARDPrayer Request!!!!!!

Today we found out that there is a stike in Manzini at the bus rank and we have heard that if it does not get fixed in the next day or two then it could get out of control. We normally take public everyday to our ministry locations but with the strike there is no transportation so we are in need of hardcore prayer. This could get better in a day but we have been told its also serious and if it goes on very long people are going to get upset and there is all sort of possiblities of riots which would put us in danger for just being here in Swaziland and so we are praying that the strike ends in the next day or so and if not we will see how things are going to be handled.

If Manzini breaks out into riots we will most likely have to leave the country and continue life back at ALABANZA. I do not want to leave this early to another location so please pray for this to be in the LORDS hands and for our us to stay safe and away from the people who are anger with the factory owners.

as of today we are safe and it has not gotten out of control yet so we need the prayers for it to end soon.

thanks love aubs

The difference between Me and You (SWAZI and AMERICA)

This week has been full of awesome conversations with high schoolers, and my relationships with them all have sky rocketed to a point where now I am accepted and they talk to me whenever they see me walking over to the school.
I have this 8th grade class that I teach ( also known as form 1) the ages in the class range from 13-18 years old. I know crazy!!!! Well there is a definite reason why that is and it has to do with the schools in Swaziland and the fact that they have to pay school fees.
There are about 7 kids in the form 1 class and they are my favorite
class of all, it hurts to know that children in Swaziland can't go to
school unless they pay their fees, some of which never do and therefore
never attend school.
I bring this topic up because I happened to ask Lorrence why he is 18 years old and only in form 1 and he told me that he had to stay home for 3 years because his parents couldn't afford the school fees and if fact he is getting ask to not come back to school on Monday unless he has to money to pay school fees. I want you all to pray for him and that his situation is in the LORDS hands. If any of you would like to help with the school fees you can contact me via email. the cost is R2,100= about 300 US dollars

aubreylvincent@hotmail.com

Lorrence is the one on the right hand side
In the begining of getting settled into the ministry, life was hectic and there wasnt a set scheldule of what exactly I was doing but I can now say that I have a routine.

The first few times of going to Roadspark High School and teaching their career guidance class, which now is basically a bible class, I felt as if it was useless. I was starting to believe a lie that the enemy so badly wanted me to believe. It had to do a lot with not knowing the students personally and the fact that we justed waltz right into their class thinking that they were going to pay attention, and I found out that that was not the right way to approach the situation.

In Swaziland the students for the most part are extremely quiet, which doesn't help when you are wanting them to interact with you when you ask questions. So I decided to ask the headmaster if I could do something that involved the classroom setting and I told him that I wanted to build relationships with the students. He has allowed me with a BIG yes to do whatever it is that I want in the classrooms, even teach a class if I want. Well I wasnt too into that exact idea about teaching my own class but I did ask about helping with tutoring/counseling. So I now help in the computer class with the students while they are learning new skills. Its the best way to earn respect and build relationships with them. Also on Wednesdays they have sports which starts after lunch and ends when schools out so it allows me to be there from 9-10 am in the computer lab and then 1-3:40 playing sports with them. GOD is blessing my relationships with them and I have seen an incrdeible amount of hearts just open up. Now that I have my foot in the door, I know the students, and they know me, much more can happen .......

It was really an encouragement to actually see these young girls that were in this class that I was sharing with ask me to keep teaching them while these guys goofed off and got really angry because I showed them a verse and they didnt believe that the LORD could raise people from the dead. It was a huge deal because no matter how much they acted out in class and said out loud to everybody that I was lying to them, they were still very interested in the word and eventually one of the guys that was acting out came over and sat down to listen with the rest of the girls that I was talking with. Its those times that makes me humble myself before GOD more than ever and ask for his grace in those students lives. FRIENDS much more is happening in ministry, and just random times during the day, I wish that I could share it all with you but its too much to write and it would be forever long to read. So please if you have any questions about things that I have not mentioned while being here please ask and leave a comment and I will try my best to answer them.

Last night I was sleeping and it was about 2:30 in the morning when all of a sudden I heard the most horrifying scream outside probably 2 streets away and it was nothing like anything I have ever heard in my life, all I could do as I was frozen in fear for this woman or girl was to pray to GOD for her life. I am clueless to know what was going on and why that was happening but it continued 4 more times, and I was extremely scared because there was and is nothing that I could do other than pray but so badly I wanted to HELP the situation.... I couldnt except lift it up to GOD in pray.

Everyday I pray for GODS hand on his children and the orphans that we hold and see weekly that go back to homes that are full of rape and any other kind of abuse.... PLEASE keep praying for them all.

About the BIBLES!!!!

I am so sorry , I forgot to tell you guys the price of the bibles!!!

I recently talked with the man who works at the christian book store and have asked him about getting bibles for the students that I live next door to and that there are about 100 that we are hoping for. He has told me that NIV are the first best version and then NKJV would be the next best to use because of the language and difference of wording the students would understand that better than any other bible version.

Pastor Terry, you were asking me if you could send bibles and the answer is YES, but because the government is more like a corrupt one I cannot gaurantee that they would even get here, I dont really know who would want to steal them but nothing is ever guaranteed here. You/I would be way off giving the donations to my mother and she could let me know when she was to put the money in my account so I can get the bibles right away.

the bibles that I have found for the cheapest are $60.00 RAND about $8.00 U.S , they are perfect and are decent for the students. Praise GOD, what a blessing it would be to bless the kids with life long wisdom.

I am doing really good by the way!!!

the girls that I am ministering to actually have asked me about bibles today and all I can tell them is that I am working on getting some... I pray for the students to have open hearts for when I teach and share with them and GOD is blowing me away every time I go over there more people are interested in spiritual things and the girls have opened up to me as if I have known them for years. GOD is using me in great ways. keep praying for the high schools and that they will know HIM and let HIM be known.

HELLO

friends I miss you all!! today there is not going to be a awesome blog but I promise next week it will be much better. Since I can only use the internet once a week it is very tight trying to get everything done in the amount of time that I am online. So Sorry my loves.

So I want to give you all a challenge, my being in Swaziland limits me to the support raising that I can do but I believe in the LORD for his provision in my life and I know that GOD is so good to me and I want you guys to play a part in my life and how GOD is using me here to encourage young high school students.

High school ministry is going awesome, but there is a need for BIBLES. some have them but very few own their own bible. I have talked to my mom and have asked her to let everyone she knows about the need. I can get bibles from this store that I walk past everyday while going into town and they have told me that I could get them with a percentage off when I buy them in bulk. I live right next to a high school called ROADSPARK high school where I do ministry Monday- Friday and I want to bless the students there with Bibles but I can't do it with out the help from the body of christ, So I ask that you pray about supporting this need and if you would like to play a part then please email my mother named BRENDA VINCENT @ markandbrenda@gci.net and please let her know so that any money that contributes to this she can get it to me so that I can purchase these BIBLES. I am so thankful for you all, especially you, yes you the one reading this right now, MAY GOD BLESS YOU .

because they haven't heard,

This morning I woke at 5:45 am so I could head out to by 6:15 and make the 45 minute walk into town, to catch a koombi ( also known as some sort of taxi). Today Katie, Kristen, and I were invited to speak at St. Pauls high school for 10 minutes during what they call an assembly. technically its really just a brief announcement. There we informed the students who we were and what we are doing in Swaziland at the high schools and have invited them to srcipture union.

The head teacher announced our invitation as a special occassion making the students even more excited to want to come!!!! Thats pretty awesome considering we are going to be able to talk to all the high school students at once and we will start to build a relationships with the girls, and overtime will be able to pour into their lives.

I MISS YOU ALL AND CAN'T WAIT TO TELL YOU MUCH MORE!!! LOVE AUBS

Since arriving a week ago the the team is just now getting settled into things and we will be starting our daily scheldules this tuesday.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

As you will read from my blog the ministry that I have chosen to be involved in hasn't really started completely but there has been much to do in the last week. We go out from Tuesday to Friday and do ministry at our chosen place, we are to get 20 hours in at the specific ministry and then on Saturday, we will have Team ministry day, which would involve the entire team going to a location where we have ministry such as a carepoint, squatter camp, etc and working together as a team. Sunday's we go to church of our choice and I have chosen to go to my leader Kate's church out in the rural area. I absolutley love it, it's so different than anything that I have ever experienced. The church is in a cement building with stools and a keyboard that is running off of a car battery. You can show up anywhere from 10 and 11 and still be on time to the service, that is because the worship starts at 10 and goes till about 12, it's crazy but I love it. Monday is our off day where we are given the choice to do whatever we would like, most of us will be using the internet that day because we are only allowed once a week to get on and check email/blog and whatever else needs to be done. Then the week starts all over again and back to ministry for the remainder of the week!!!!!!!!!!

There is still a need of $3,400 to cover the rest of the cost of the program, the money is going for our transportation back and forth to ministry sites, 3 meals a day, our housing, and minstry supplies. All these things are needed while on the field. I have to raise the money by MAY, that is when I will be done with the program and on my way home I come. thanks so much for everything and the support from everyone is a blessing in my life. I love you all and miss you all so much.

My life starting in Swaziland!!!!!

We arrived in Swaziland a week ago, and have since then started to go about our ministries that we are all involved in.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

The ministry that I have a great desire to be involved in is high school ministry. I really believe that the Lord is going to use me to impact the high school girls and their lives. Since deciding that I was going to do high school ministry there has been a lot to do in preparation for the next 4 months. Such as walking around Manzini, which is the town that we are living in and locating the high schools near us. Katie and I, who is a girl on my team that is doing the same ministry as me, have been given a task to go around and talk to the headmaster's(principles) at the schools to tell them what we are doing here and to ask about a thing called scripture union. Almost all high schools have this, it's a set time during the day, sometimes at lunch where students come together and do bible study. Once the head master approves of us going onto school property before school, during lunch, or even after school we will be able to plan our daily scheldule around each different high that we are invovled in.

Since schools dont start for 3 more days and we have had a whole week to do ministry, katie, and I have been going over curriculum that we will be able to use during our time with the students. The curriculum that I have been very fascinated by is called Charity.

Charity is used to empower the young students and to give them hope for a future. The study is based on Sexual Purity which happens to be an extreme need that should be talked about with these people in Swaziland, because they are living in the country which happens to be the highest infected country with HIV/AIDS.

hey guys so I wanted to write one more time , to just let you know that I am here and for the last 3 days I have been hangin out with a teammate of mine and waiting for the rest of my team to arrive here at Alabanza. there hasnt been a set scheldule and ministry hasnt really started and wont start until we are in Swaziland and we are leaving on friday morning sometime. of course we are always living with a mission in our heart although we are not doing any ministry out in the land of AFRICA yet until we get to SWAZI.

Since our vehicles are as of right now not working there is no other option of transportation except for renting a vehicle and hiring a driver to take us five hours away where my team will be living for the next 4 months. I cant wait to write about that crazy experience that we are going to have in the vans or what every we are taking there.

sorry if this is boring but there hasnt been too much that has gone on here since I arrived just now, meaning I arrived a few days ago. I will write more probably after we get to Swazi so it might be a little while until you here from me again.

love ya guys.

oh JAMES PHILLIPS I sat next to a guy who knows way of the master on my way to LONDON and he gave me these really fun tracts that he had on him. it was random but awesome!!!!!

2 days later and a lost suitcase!!!!

hey there,

I left on Friday morning from Anchorage to Minnesota where I literally had to run from gate C to gate F to get to my next flight that was within minutes of closing the door to my LONDON flight. So my travels started off with quite an adventure in itself and off I was to LONDON. After an 8 hour flight I arrived in the GATWICK airport, just 40 minutes of a train ride away to central London. I had 9 hours to chill out before I was to get on my next flight of 11 hours to the Johannesburg airport.

Well being that I am a pretty adventurous person and love to meet new people I was off to buy my all day train pass. It cost me 10.50 pounds which adds up to be about 21.00 us dollars, not bad considering I can use the underground transit system that they have. WOW it was amazing!!! I took the train to Buckingham Palace along with hundreds of other people who were on their way to see some sort of event that was going on there. From there I walked to BIG BEN ( the huge tower with a clock on it), and from there I took another train to the National Gallery where I got to look at the original artwork from artist from way back, such as VAN GOGH. That was pretty much what I did while in London and it was so worth every bit of the traveling, especially because I was alone there was no worrying about where the people you are with are, and there was no one to hurry me to the next destination.

Later Saturday Night I got onto my last flight to Johannesburg, the only way to describe the feeling of being on the ground would be STOKED, because after almost 30 hours of sitting on a plane and having nothing to do I needed to get off and walk. Now so here I am in the Johannesburg airport, a some what sketchy place and I am waiting for my luggage. After about 20 minutes I see one of my bags and I am exctied because it made it through, well I wait and wait and the people around me start to leave and I still havent received my other suitcase that happens to have all my clothes. Well I come to find out that my suitcase was still left in LONDON and the next flight from there to where I was wasnt until Tuesday so I would have to wait 2 days for my clothes to get there. Thats just another one of the adventures that I have experienced since leaving ALASKA less than a week ago.

I am leaving AK RIGHT NOW!!!!!

hey friends and family,

I am leaving today, on my way back to Swaziland where I will be for the next 4 months. I am so thankful for the time that I have had while here at home in the good old AK but I am very much more excited that things worked out for me to get to go back.

The reason for coming home early was due to a knee injury, which so happens to not be the case anymore. After seeing a doctor almost a month after being home my knee was basically feeling 80% better and I just thought it was because I was getting more rest than I was when I was gone, due to the walking everyday on crazy neighborhood roads for 4 hours a day and doing ministry with the AMAZING children there.

The doctor seems to think I may have sprained my knee and because I left right away on my trip to AFRICA there was no time to allow it to get better and therefore I will have to think the same and now its been 2 months and my knee is doing GREAT!!!!!! thanks everyone so much for Prayers and all of your financial help its has blessed not only me but the people that I am living with and doing ministry for.

I am still due for $3400 and have been obviously for the last 2 months but because I was unsure if I was going back there was no need to think about it. Now that I am leaving in 2 hours it's OFFICIAL that i will still need the help from all my friends and family with financial support. please prayer about helping and keep in contact via blogpage/email.

if you are wanting to support me please click on the support me link on the left han column and follow the instructions!! thanks a bunch

look forward to some more amazing photos!!!!

because they havent heard, love aubs

I will be leaving in about one week from today!!!! I love you all and can't wait to start blogging the amazing stories that I hear and see while I will be gone, there is much more to share with you guys in the future and I will update you more later. love aubs

IM GLAD THAT MY TITLE GOT YOUR ATTENTION!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!!

this year has gone by extremly fast, I remember last year leaving the day after christmas to fly to kansas city got the Internation House of Prayer conference, and then again making it within hours to Atlanta Georgia where my amazing friend Meriah met up with me to attend a college age conference for 4 days. It was when I got back and starting looking online for a mission trip/ organization to go with on a mission, that is when I found AIM. TIME has FLOWN by........ I left in September to South Africa where I was for 2 months, doing ministry with people from all over the UNITED STATES. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it, even though there where some really rough and tough times. Every moment was well worth the 28 hours of flying to get there even if it was to share the gospel one person who may have changed their life because of the truth that was spoken. Now I have been back for almost 2 months, a little earlier than I expected but due to a injury I needed time to rest and heal. I am doing much better basically 100% better and I plan on leaving back to SWAZILAND in 19 days. I am very excited for what the LORD has planned for my team while we will be there for the next 4 months living and breathing JESUS to the peoples of the world. I am still in need of support raising for the remainder of my trip which come to $3,400 dollars. The money helps with the three meals a day that we recieve, thank the LORD for the food we glady get every day!!! the housing that we stay in while over there. and a few other things as well. I recently worked for two weeks making enough/ also with a gracious donated amount from a friend to purchase a roundtrip ticket back to Swaziland. I will be leaving soon and wanted to let all of you who get my updates to know what is going on right now.

plus my needs: prayer in health, safety, spiritual life, financial support

thank you all who read my updates and I am very excited to share with you about my story so just ask. We all have one dont we?

because they havent heard,

DOCTOR VISIT today!!!

So for all you who didn't know why I came back from AFRICA a month earlier than everyone else it because...... I had injured my knee in August . Then I left for Africa within weeks of hurting my knee, I was walking for 4 hours a day about 4 days a week, at the time I thought that I would be fine and I could just hang in there and that it wouldn't bother me. I was wrong because the lack of rest after hurting my knee it just seemed to get worse and worse so I saw the doctor in SOUTH AFRICA and they could only tell me what I could have told myself. I decided it was time to go home and that it was just an option to go home but I needed to go home to see how to get the problem taken care of. The doctor I saw today, gave me some very good news!!! He told me that I most likely sprained my knee because I had twisted it and since leaving for my trip there was no time for it to heal therefore getting worse over the 2 months that I was gone, since being home my knee has been so much better to a point where a little more rest and I am good to go. I am now taking glucosamine and chondorotin pills 2 a day and using BIOFREEZE on my knee and it is helping me so much with the healing, so looks like after all I dont need surgery on my knee, that is at least for now. PRAISE THE LORD!!! I am planning on going back to africa in JANUARY to complete what the LORD has started in my life and its all because of GOD.

I am very excited to see all of you guys so soon, I have missed you for the past month and a half and I am so glad you are all home and getting to rest and visit with your family.
love aubs
THOUGHTS FROM AUBS FOR TEAM AFRICA

Hello Team Africa, I have been reading your blogs as often as I can, and I really enjoy hearing the amazing, sad, and funny times that you guys are all having while you are in South Africa. I pray for you guys all. LOVE YA AND MISS YA!!!!!!!!!
Time is coming soon when you will be returning home for Christmas, where you will be thrown into a world that is not only familiar too you but also very hard to except when you get back. It is just a little over 3 weeks since I have been home and I still find it a little surreal to be home. Its hard at times to live such an extremely different way than I did in Africa, but what an experience that the LORD has blessed me with and you all as well, it humbles my heart to have experienced it for myself.
There are some things that I would love to just let you all know about before returning home so you can have a little bit of a warning so that it wont be such a surprise to you when you get home.

ALLOW YOURSELF A COUPLE DAYS TO YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT HELPS YOU a lot especially the first few days home when everyone wants to see you and talk to you and you are just in TOTAL CULTURE SHOCK because of such a different change. ALTHOUGH my first day home I went and surprised a few friends at their work and it was GREAT.......I went home and the next days wanted to be alone and just stay away just for a little until I felt as though I could start to live. love aubs

DONT EXPECT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING THAT YOU HAVE SEEN OR EXPERIENCED WHILE GONE, they won't..... over course stories are good but it helps when you are sharing to use as much detail but make the story short and simple, Dont overload them!!! so you wont have to explain yourself to much because, you will be sharing the SAME THING OVER AND OVER FOR THE WHOLE MONTH THAT YOU GUYS ARE HOME. TRUST ME!!! IM HOME AND IM STILL SHARING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER.... I love that people will ask about my trip but after 3 weeks its a little overwhelming because you tell them the same stuff. It will get a little tiring, although my heart is to share and talk to people sometimes its difficult. love aubs

REMEMBER THAT WHILE YOU WERE GONE AND YOUR LIFE WAS GOING ON EVERYONE ELSE AT HOME ALSO HAD A LIFE TO LIVE ALSO. at first you may feel that even thought people talk to you and want to hear all about it and you share your stories, your emotions might make you think that know one cares that you were gone, or someone might say I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN SO LONG WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? I MISSED YA AT CHURCH.... and so on. BE BLESSED that you have an opportunity to share with them what GOD is doing in your life and those on your team. AMEN
love aubs

Just a mild change -------------

WEATHER- well in my case I came home to about the 20's sometimes in the 30's and now ITS IN THE TEENS here in ALASKA. so in my case Definetly weather shock.... Along with the all the snow that was here has melted in the first week that I was home... YOU MAY EXPERIENCE such but if you are LINDSEY WATSON OR BAILEY SWAGER who live in California and FLORIDA then you may not have a problem with the different changes. love aubs

FROM OLD TEAMATE JB WHO IS ON THE KENYA TEAM ( JB IS FROM ALASKA) when you read his blog you can get a glimpse of what ministry time was like when I was there in SOUTH AFRICA and at ESKOM my favorite place to go. love aubs

Well, it seems like it has been a long week, and I'm not sure why. The last few weeks have gone by pretty fast, which is good and bad in its own way. This week however, I am going to have to start with Saturday. We had our day off, and started off at the cruddy internet shop in Ifafi (the power goes off there a lot because one of the townships nearby, Eskom, steals the power somehow). So we went there and it worked well enough, then we went to the Dam Market (haha missionary humor) there's a lake not too far away that has a dam, and the cultural market, hence we went to the dam market, dam restaurants, etc. I have a fun time there; the 100 people there at the market seem to know all of us now. I am known as Pastor Dread Man. I had a good conversation with one the locals, about how I can have dreads, and at the same time can be a Christian. I think he got it; I just talked about how it's about the heart. I also got offered "leaves". Yeah, the market is fun.

Sunday, amazing day. We were supposed to go to an Afrikaans church which is more youth centered, but our leaders felt that we were supposed to stay back. Church was pretty good, Deeni, the lady that owns Alabanza, talked to us about having joy in our lives, and living it out as though we have joy (cuz we do, even if it is buried pretty far down) We prayed over a few of our teammates that Christ would touch their lives and restore the joy, and I can testify for 2 of my teammates that this whole week nothing has gotten them down, every morning they wake up as though they have the joy of the Lord. We also had some baptisms. 2 of them actually, one of my teammates, Abby decided that it was time for her to declare her allegiance of Christ to the world. Also awesomely enough, my buddy Tylo, who has come and ministered with us a few times and always comes to Alabanza church was baptized. It made for a pretty sweet afternoon.

Abby's Baptism

Tylo Baptized by Themba
Monday I'm trying to remember exactly what happened. I remember our morning session was awesome. Since we are divided up in our teams, we are basically leading our morning sessions. After quiet time, we come back together and have a time of worship, that one of us leads. Monday morning, Luke led it and his form of worship was painting, so we spent about an hour painting on the back of some big tarps that came out really awesome. Oh yeah we also go to start our testimonies again. So each day this week 2 of my teammates have been sharing their testimonies so we can get a better idea of who each of us are and how God has moved in our lives before coming here and how he got us here.

Just an awesome picture of me... Cuz I am that shallow
Ministry was good. I went back to A-Ville. We met up with Lydia, whose husband was there, which was really good to finally meet him, and we sat down and talked with both of them, read some scripture to them and prayed for them, and then walked over to Serena's house. She was in an okay state. She allowed us to sit down with her and read Psalms to her and get to know her a little more. After that we walked up to Joshua's house to say hello to him and check on him and make sure he was doing okay. He wasn't home at first, so we walked up to another house, the lady who lives there got to know Michelle on our team, and hadn't been able to visit for a week so we went up to her house and drank soda with her and her brother. It was a good time. Then we went and talked with Joshua for a bit, and spoke some more truth to him, and got some more of his questions answered and I think he's starting to trust us more, which is great but we only have 2 more days of ministry. We walked around a bit more and stopped at 2 different chrechs (official way of spelling it I found out, still sounds like Cresh) and sang some songs with the kids before going back home. It was a pretty excellent day.

Me at the Chreche
TuesdayI honestly do not remember what happened. It can't be that important otherwise I would remember it, not that it wasn't good, it was just so average that I can't remember. I do remember this was the first day that we went swimming in our pool. Oh man it was good. When it's about 85-90 outside and sunny with no clouds, it makes for a good after ministry activity.

Wednesday, I had an excellent morning. We had Themba teach. Themba, I can't remember if I've told you about him, he and his wife Mary are permanent missionaries here that have adopted 2 African kids, Busi (7 or 8) and Nandu (2 or 3). Themba is just an excellent man of God. He is very keen on the locals here in Safrica, I think he makes friends with everyone he meets here and can remember their name even the guys at the gas station that fill up the car. But he started preaching on Doctrine and Acts of the Holy Spirit. It was such a great discussion and teaching that we almost skipped lunch but eventually had it, but decided to pass on ministry to keep getting poured into. He preached for about 8 hours that day. It was great, he eventually got to the 6 elementary principals found in Hebrews 6. It was just good to get poured into like that; we haven't really had anything that deep or moving since the beginning of AIM. We also went swimming again that evening after everything.

Thursday, we had Themba come back and teach some more to us, but did go out to ministry. I decided to stay at the chrech that we have really been pouring into. It is the one Mama Martha does. So, Melissa and I stayed at the chrech and helped Mama Martha take care of the 20 or so kids. * We also just got help Martha relax a bit which is nice for her, and I got to play with a bunch of awesome kids. (The pictures make up for lack of blogging on this day, or the whole week). I also gave my testimony Thursday nite, which was good for my teammates to get to know a little more of me.

Me at the Creche

Creche Kids
Friday, we started out looking a for a pastor that Michael and Michelle had met Thursday who is actually from Kenya, but decided that God called him to A-Ville to start a church, which he has and is growing. So we went and met up with him. His name is Pastor Peter or Pastor Petros. He came with us and walked around and helped us pray and sit with people. We first went to Serena's house, where Michelle, Luke and I stayed and sat and talked with her, while Michael and Peter went to some of Michael's friend's houses to introduce them to Peter. Meanwhile the 3 of us had an amazing time with Serena. It really broke my heart to be with her. She is in much pain. She has all kinds of sores in her mouth and throat which doesn't allow her to eat and drinking water hurts her enough. So she was in a pretty terrible state. She was feeling very hopeless, but by God's grace we spoke truth to her, prayed some of the Psalms with her, and just sat and mourned with her. But after praying for her and just loving her, when we took off (about an hour later) she seemed to have peace about her, and although her sores were still there, she's going to the doctor's tomorrow. So please keep her in your prayers, she is really pressed on my heart, and I am really praying that God will restore her completely, to where she is dancing in the streets and singing praises, living out Psalm 150. I took a picture with her wanting you guys to know whom I was talking about, and when I told her that my friends, family, and church family were going to be praying for her, she got really excited. So I hope her face gets burned into your heart, and you will lift her up.

Serena and I on Friday
After seeing Serena we went to one of Pastor Peter's church member's house. A very nice lady named Hannah, who has a son named Johannes (29) who is paralyzed from the waist down from a car accident. We sat with him and got to know him a bit, then prayed for him. Then sat down with Hannah and had juice and cookies, and talked with her and got to know her story a bit. It was a pretty good day. Then we went ahead and walked back to the chrech and played with the kids for the few remaining minutes.

Prayer Requests: My teammate Joie decided to leave Friday, to go back home and get some things worked out there with family members and financial situations, so if you could keep her in your prayers that would be amazing.
My other team member Nicole is going to head home Tuesday to be with her family for Thanksgiving and spend precious time with them that they all need, so a safe flight for her, and good family time, pray that God comforts them in their time together.
Our Swazi-team is coming back on Tuesday or Wednesday, so pray for safe driving, and no problems at the border crossing.
Continued prayer for Serena, George, Sam, Lydia, Safrica in general, and our team.

I love you guys. I hope that your Thanksgiving is a blessed time for you to remember why you can give thanks, and all the things that you are thankful for. I know for me, being here in Safrica has taught me to be so much more thankful for what God has allowed me to have. Grace, Faith, Salvation.

God Bless. Give me an update next week how Thanksgiving was for you, what you ate, who you were with, etc.

Team Special K
First Row: Me, Michael, Abby
Second Row: Carrie, Melissa, Luke
Third Row: Chelsea, Teressa
Fourth Row: Michelle, Amber, Tessa
Fifth Row: Denise, Nicole
Sixth Row: Allison, Joie
